Is RBI announcing new series notes?
On the one hand, this note is going viral, but the Reserve Bank of India has not given any precise information about the release of the new series of notes of 500 rupees with the image of Lord Shri Ram. According to the sources, the Rs 500 note which is going viral with pictures of Lord Shri Ram is fake.
Ashwini Rana, an expert in the banking sector and founder of Voice of Banking, said that no such announcement has been made nor has any information been given by the RBI. He said, this is fake news. RBI will not release any such new 500 series notes.
RBI has already denied this
This is not the first time that a new series of Rs 500 notes has been released with a different image in place of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. In June 2022, it was being said that the RBI was considering replacing Mahatma Gandhi’s image in the current currency and bank notes and printing a new series of notes with images of Rabindranath Tagore and Missile Man former President APJ Kalam. The RBI then had to come forward to deny the news. RBI then said that no such proposal is before RBI.
