In Jammu city, 5000 street vendors, but 1000 people are getting the benefit of the loan under PM Fund scheme
The benefit of the loan under PM Fund scheme will not be available to all vendors in the city. At present, there are more than 5000 street vendors in the city and registration under the scheme has been only one thousand. The municipal corporation has also had to stop the registration drive due to shortage of Rehadi zone in Jammu city.
There are only seven rehadi zones in different places in the city, and they are also selling the goods already. There is a problem for the rest of the vendors not having a rehadi zone. As per the conditions, the municipal corporation will have to sit in the Rehadi zone for the benefit of the scheme and only then the benefit of the scheme will be there.
The street vendor has also suffered a lot of economic losses during the lockdown. The central government has planned to give them a loan of up to ten thousand rupees to provide relief so that they can run their business again. For this, the registration drive was launched on behalf of the corporation but the registration has been stopped due to shortage of Rehadi zone in the city.
